City of Colours Street Art Festival took place in the Summer of 2014 and 2016 and was one of the UK’s largest celebrations of street art and urban culture. The Arts Council funded, award-winning event, transformed Digbeth into one of the world’s largest outdoor art galleries.
Over 120 street artists were involved; painting, drawing and exhibiting their work on a huge array of canvases, including a number of large murals. The festival took place over 15 venues, with ten music stages, a range of exciting performances, BMX displays, break dancing battles, urban arts workshops, a doodle wall, and large market hall hosting a number of the City’s independent creatives.
The festival truly reflected the vibrancy of its people and its places, bringing together different communities, families and friends of all ages to enjoy the electric atmosphere that was City of Colours!
